NZ National Spearfishing Championships 2020

About the event: 

Entry fees pay for the event and go towards the activities of Spearfishing New Zealand Inc. Fish auctions will be held under permit from Fisheries New Zealand. Proceeds from fish auctions will go to the Omaha Beach Surf Life Saving Club. All competitors should familiarise themselves with the NZ spearfishing competition rules: https://www.spearfishingnz.co.nz/rulesIn particular, take note of gear requirements (floats with flags etc): You will not be able to start if you do not have a qualifying float.  

Open Championships: You are responsible for finding a partner to dive with. We will assist if we can. Individual events (women's and juniors): you are responsible for arranging a safety observer who will accompany you at all times during the vent and who must be familiar with the rules. We will assist if we can. 

Boats: Bring a boat if possible - be generous with offering rides - please assist the organisers to ensure everyone gets out to the dive site. Fish list for Open event: Blue Maomao 1, Gamefish/Hapuku 1, Giant Boarfish 1, John Dory 4, Kahawai 1, Koheru 2, Pink Maomao 2, Snapper 4, Tarakihi 2, Trevally 4, Blue moki 1.
